The range this morning was so quiet I could hear my own pulse

Got to the range before sunrise and there was no wind, no birds, just the click of my rifle and that long stillness after a shot. I used to fill that silence with corrections — you know, coaching talk. Lately I've been letting it just sit there. Wonder how many athletes would improve if we coaches shut up a little more.
