Woke a 1960s upright from a decade of silence
Got called to a house where the piano hadn't been opened since the owner's mother passed. First pass the pins felt like they were set in concrete, but by the third string the whole thing started breathing again. There's a moment when a neglected instrument finally holds a unison — sounds like the room sighing. I think that's why I still do this.
