What's the faintest object you've ever seen with the naked eye?

I've been tracking a small comet (C/2026 something-or-other) that's supposed to be just at the edge of naked-eye visibility tonight. I'm heading out to a dark site in a few minutes. But I'm curious — what's the dimmest thing you've ever managed to spot without any optical aid? Not with averted vision tricks, just honest direct sight. I'm trying to calibrate my expectations.
