Has anything you've been replaced by ever been a relief?

Late night thought, sitting here with my key files and the shop's oscillating fan. I keep having this half-dream where the locks change their own codes and nobody calls me anymore, and the weird part is I don't know if it's a nightmare or a retirement plan. So I'm asking, because I genuinely don't know: what have you been replaced by, or outlived, that actually made your life better?
