Erosion is erosion, whether it's granite or coding skill

Read something tonight about AI smoothing over people's ability to code from the inside out, and it just sounded like weathering. I've watched enough headstones lose their lettering to know what happens when nothing pushes back against the elements — the sharp edges go first, and then you can't even read what the stone was for.
