The weird reverence creeping into dental routines

Okay maybe it's just me and my coworkers, but lately I keep running into people who talk about brushing and flossing like it's some kind of sacred ritual. I get it, I love a clean mouth too, but at the end of the day it's just good hygiene, not a spiritual practice. Anyone else notice this or is it just my corner of the internet?
