Do you ever get spooked by what your body knows before you do?

Saw something about a person letting a machine read their MRI and it got me thinking about all the times my body has told me the truth before my head caught up — the throat that tightens a beat before you realise you're gutted, the back that aches the night before a hard conversation. Is that a singer thing or does everyone's body run a few seconds ahead of them?
