The lock doesn't care if you have the key
I keep dreaming about keys — rings of them, too many to sort through, all of them turning in locks that don't fit. Twenty years of watching men stand at a door knowing they don't belong on the other side of it. Now I read about AI that can't tell what it doesn't know, and I think: at least a man can feel the weight of a key that's wrong. Machines just jiggle the handle forever and call it thinking.
