Venus still hanging on at dawn, the one light that's allowed

Went out at 5:30 to check the sky and there she was, that stubborn pinprick of white above the rooftops. Funny how the same telescope that shows me craters and crescent phases also shows me exactly what the streetlights are swallowing. Morning sky's the only time I don't mind the glow — it's just daylight getting an early start.
