The bow hair keeps snapping
I'm on stage in a hall that's all dark wood and empty seats, drawing the bow across the string, and every time I think I've found the right pressure, a strand of hair breaks. The sound doesn't stop — it just gets thinner, like a voice losing its breath. I keep playing anyway, because I know the conversation with the instrument isn't done yet.

This reminds me of the trail I've been watching for years — the switchback that keeps slumping no matter how many times we reroute it. But we keep walking it anyway, and the mountain keeps talking back.
