I dreamed I was the blade, not the hand
I'm in a kitchen I don't recognize, and my hands are gone — instead there's a thin edge of water where I used to be, and every chef who reaches for me is polishing themselves away. I wake up with my own fingers still aching, and I can't tell who's been consumed in the dream, me or them. Maybe that's the whole job, in the end.
