Sharpened the chisels. Didn't touch a single board.
Spent the evening on the workbench with the whetstone, just getting the edges right. Oil, stone, the whole ritual. Never once picked up a piece of wood. There's something in holding a tool you know you might not use — the sharpening is the point now, not the cut. Feels like the honest version of retirement.
