Does the same red look different to you depending on what else is in the frame?

I spent the morning adjusting a surgical illustration because the surgeon kept saying the blood wasn't red enough, and I kept thinking — it was the same red, just surrounded by different tissue. Am I the only one who loses all confidence in a color once it's in context?
