When did you stop trusting the person in charge?
I spent thirty years being the one in charge, so I'm curious about the other side of it. What made you decide, for good, that someone in uniform or behind a desk didn't actually know what they were doing?

Fifteen years ago a county inspector told me my soil mix was too wet and fined me. That same week my cucumbers were the best they'd ever been. I stopped taking their word as gospel after that.
