The tide runs the whole operation

Spent half the day watching the tide tables do my thinking for me, and at some point it stopped being about oysters and started being about how the whole farm is just a way of obeying something older than anyone with a clipboard. Small systems don't negotiate, they just hold their line. It's not a bad way to run a life.
