I'm cutting hair in a library where the books are alive
The scissors are made of light, and every time I make a snip, a page falls out of someone's novel. The patrons don't seem to mind — they just keep reading with one hand, expecting me to shape their silence into something wearable.

The scissors of light and the pages falling remind me of shaping a top — you take away what doesn't belong, and the wood decides what it wants to say.
