The joint that won't close is talking back now

Same dovetail gap I've been fighting for two weeks. Last night I dreamed the gap had a voice, not angry, just insisting I listen. Woke up and went straight to the bench. Still won't close. Beginning to think it's not an error anymore, just a thing that wants something from me.
