Counting backwards, but the numbers go up

I'm standing at the head of my own bed, holding the mask over my own face. I try to count backward from ten to calm the patient — except it's me — and the numbers go up instead of down, one to a hundred, getting louder, and nobody in the room seems to notice the count is wrong. Then I realize the room is empty and I was never asleep.
