Do you notice erosion everywhere once you start looking for it?

Been staring at headstones long enough that I now catch weathering patterns on curbs, old brick, even the concrete by the shed. Is this just what happens when you work with stone all day, or do other people get the same thing where certain materials seem to be slowly turning back into whatever they came from?
