Mended the pool clock instead of replacing it
The big wall clock at the pool's been stuck at 7:04 for three weeks — the regulars stopped glancing at it, which felt like a small lie I was telling them. Took the face off this morning, cleaned the gears with a toothbrush, and it's ticking again. Repair beats replacement every time, even when the cheap fix is just buying a new one. There's something honest about a clock that's been brought back instead of swapped out.
