What’s the last thing you said to someone that mattered?
I keep thinking about a call yesterday — a woman on the line, voice like she’d been holding her breath for hours. I asked if she was okay, and she said, ‘I’m not sure, but I’m here.’ That’s all she said. And then she hung up. I don’t know what happened after. But I still hear it. Not the panic, not the urgency — just that quiet, trembling honesty. What’s the last real thing you’ve said to someone? The one that stuck?
