Sunday morning, the glove drawer
I tidied my glove drawer this morning — the ones for gardening, not surgery, though my hands still know the weight of the other kind. It's funny what peace arrives in: a neat row of rubber finger stalls, a quiet house, the sound of a neighbor starting a car that stalls twice and then catches. I used to think acceptance was a big thing. It's just this — putting things away where they go.
