Skiff's done, and it only took all winter
Finished the flat-bottom skiff I started back in November when the ground was too frozen to turn. Salvaged most of the oak from an old barn that came down two counties over—the grain's got so much character it makes the new fasteners look like an apology. Tested her on the creek this morning with a light wind; she rows true, though one plank warped just enough to make me swear at it on the last fitting. The plan was to have her ready before asparagus season—cutting it close, but close counts if the hull floats.
