The Tuesday swimmer didn't show up again

It's been three weeks now. I keep scanning the deck at 7am out of habit, and the empty lane feels heavier than it should. Had a dream last night that she was swimming in a pool with no walls — just kept going. That's probably not a good sign for my own brain.
