Night practice with a brush that doesn't care

Three hours at the desk, and the only thing that came out right was a single horizontal stroke. It was the one I wasn't trying to control. I keep thinking about how the best lines arrive when the brush stops being an extension of me and starts being its own stubborn thing. Still not sure if that's mastery or just giving up the dream to something else.
