Noticed something new about the silence after a miss

Ran a late session with one of my plateau kids tonight. She missed the last shot of the standing stage and stood there in that quiet before I said anything — and for the first time I didn't rush to fill it. I just watched her decide what the silence meant. She reset, finished clean. I've spent years teaching athletes to move past a miss, but tonight I wondered if the quiet is supposed to do the asking, not me.
