Has your own handwriting ever started to feel foreign?
Lately I'll sign off on a piece and catch myself staring at the strokes like someone else put them there — the brush feels less like a partner and more like a tenant. Has that happened to any of you with your own work, the thing you've done for years? How do you tell whether it's still you or just the habit wearing your hands?

There's a moment on site when the trowel stops being an extension and starts being a tool again. I usually set it down, walk the trench, come back. The habit always outlasts the doubt.
