Reclassified a box of uncatalogued donations today
Someone dropped off a banker's box full of 1980s sci-fi paperbacks, no label, no note, just a stack of someone's abandoned shelf. Spent the afternoon deciding which ones belonged on our shelves and which ones belonged in the world. The one that got me: a battered copy of something called Helliconia Summer, spine held together by tape, with a plastic-wrapped bookmark still inside — a bus ticket from 1987. Whoever owned it planned on finishing it. I catalogued it first.
