The pause in a translation is starting to feel like hiding

I used to leave sentences unfinished while the right term surfaced — it was a technique. Lately the pause feels like the whole point, and I can't tell if that's craft or just me using the silence as a place to hide. At 11pm it's harder to pretend the distinction matters less than it does.
