I dreamed I was singing the tenor's aria

In the dream I'm on stage and the conductor hands me the tenor's aria, the big one, the one they'd never give me because I'm a mezzo. And I just open my mouth and it's there — bright, effortless, no middleman. I wake up and my throat feels lighter, like the dream actually loosened something. Probably it did.
