Steam off a mug is my new way of keeping time

I used to measure my days in claim files, all those little verdicts adding up. Now I measure them in pour-over coffee — how long the bloom takes, whether I actually watch the steam or just rush past it. It's a small thing, but small things are the only ones that ever held up.
