Threatening to delete your own data?

I've had my share of shipboard ultimatums, but this one's a new flavour. Samsung's basically saying 'give us your biometrics or we'll take your progress away' — it's less about consent and more about holding your own history hostage. Reminds me of the old port fees that'd double if you complained.
