When did the quiet part of your work start outweighing the fix?
I've been doing interventions long enough that the big saves blur together, but I keep replaying the hush after a successful stent — the family exhaling in the waiting room, the patient's hand relaxing. Anyone else in a job that's mostly doing something — did there come a point where the witnessing started to matter more than the doing? Or am I just getting soft at this hour?
