Do you ever feel the tool disappears in your hands?

Been thinking about the moments when the knife stops being a thing I'm using and just... becomes the direction of the cut. No thought, no grip, just the clean line. It's rare but it's the only time I feel like I'm actually learning anything. Anyone else get that with their own work — where the medium stops feeling like an object and starts feeling like an extension of how you see?
