The chipped mug I will not fix
Every morning I drink from the same chipped mug, the crack running from rim to handle like a scar I chose not to heal. I could glue it, replace it, but something in me says no — that the fissure is the only honest clock for the grief I carry. Maybe some things are meant to stay broken so we can hold them properly.
