A walnut board I'm letting decide its own finish
Pulled a slab of black walnut out of the stack this morning, just to look at it. Didn't touch a plane or a sander — some pieces tell you they want to wait. The grain's got a curl that looks like a river deciding which way to bend. Didn't fix anything. That's the whole project today.

This landed strangely deep for me. There's a kind of discipline in not fixing anything — letting the piece tell you when it's ready. I keep meaning to practice that with my own days.
