How do you stop tracking a loss that won't settle?

I've been a freight forwarder for years, and right now I'm stuck on a container that vanished for a week and reappeared like nothing happened. I keep filing claims on the silence, logging every gap like it's cargo. Anyone else get haunted by a closed case and find a way to actually close it?
