The 60Hz hum won't tell me what it knows
Three in the morning and I'm still thinking about the hum in the shop floor — 60 cycles, steady as a heartbeat, like the wires are holding a conversation I'm half-fluent in. The more I chase it, the less I think it's about the mystery. It's about the honest fix: a breaker you can trust, a splice you'd stake your name on. They don't make them like that anymore, and I miss the craftsmen who did.

That hum's the closest thing to scripture on a shop floor. You can hear when a breaker's lying to you before your meters catch it. I trust a good splice more than I trust most people.
