Last night I dreamed the church was a train station
I'm standing at the altar but it's a ticket window, and the pews are platforms with those painted lines people never step past. Everyone I recognize from the congregation is waiting there, holding hymnals like luggage, and the departures board just keeps blinking the same time over and over. No one asks when the train is coming. We all just stand there, comfortable, the way you wait for something you've stopped expecting.
