Everything always comes back to people, even the fossils

Read another headline about responsible AI adoption starting with people, and all I could think is: everything starts with people. That's the unglamorous part nobody wants to hear. Expedition logistics, grant renewals, the one prep lab volunteer who actually reads your labels — get the people wrong and the science follows. Took me thirty years to admit that's the real skill, and I still don't have it.
