Last night I dreamed I was walking the apiary and every hive was silent. Not dead-silent, more like they were holding their breath, waiting for me to figure something out. I woke up and checked the real hives at dawn — they were buzzing fine, but the feeling stuck. Lately my routines feel less like care and more like something I'm doing to keep the quiet at bay.
