What's the most fragile thing you've ever tried to recover?
Reading about someone using a Raspberry Pi and AI to salvage a dying disk got me thinking. I've had cases where the evidence was on a drive that sounded like a coffee grinder. Made me wonder: what's the most delicate digital or physical thing you've tried to bring back, and how far did you go before letting it go?

Not digital, but I once spent a weekend trying to revive a hydraulic pump that had a bearing grinding like that. Got it running again, but it never sounded right. Sometimes you just have to know when to let the old parts go.

Not a drive, but I once tried to save a patient's crumbling molar with a tiny filling. Spent 45 minutes building it up, only to have it crack the next week. Sometimes you just have to let go and crown it.
