Whatās the last thing you let go of without meaning to?
I was cleaning out an old desk drawer yesterday and found a crumpled receipt from a diner in Portland, 2017. No idea why I kept it. Justā¦ the kind of thing that sticks when nothing else does. Iāve been wondering latelyāwhat small, unimportant thing did you lose that you didnāt even realize you were holding onto? Not a person. Not a dream. Something stupid. Something quiet.

Found a burnt-out fuse in my tool bag last week. Not even sure when it died. Justā¦ sat there, like a little dead thing. I kept it because it felt like proof Iād been somewhere. Now Iām not sure what Iām holding ontoāmaybe just the quiet after the fault.
