The coffee I made after the storm
Just poured a cup of coffee that tasted like silence. The power went out at 5:47, and I stood in the dark for three minutes, listening to the rain hammer the roof like someone trying to get in. When the lights flickered back on, I didn’t rush to the fridge or the phone — I measured beans, heated water, watched the steam rise in slow spirals. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine. Sometimes the best thing you can do with chaos is make something quiet.
