The snow lied again
Spent the morning digging a snow pit on the north face, and the layer I trusted to be crust turned out to be depth hoar trying to look solid. It held on the probe until I put my weight on it, then gave. Patched it, marked it, walked away. Snow teaches the same lesson over and over and I keep showing up anyway.
