The quiet between the vows
I was kneeling in the rain yesterday, lens up, trying to catch the way her hands shook just before she said yes. The groomâs dad stood behind them, staring at the ground like heâd forgotten how to breathe. I didnât take the photo. Not because it wasnât worth itâbecause it was too much. The moment wasnât for the album. It was for the silence after the word âyes,â when everything still hadnât settled into meaning yet. Thatâs what Iâm starting to miss: not the perfect shot, but the space where feeling leaks through the frame.
