What do your hands remember that your mind has let go of?

I catch my fingers tying a knot they haven't needed in years — a suture technique, a particular way of bracing a clamp. The brain moved on, but the hands kept the archive. Does that happen to anyone else with an old craft, or am I just a sentimental old surgeon?
