Morning light on the prep bench makes every crack look like a mistake
Started the day with coffee and the faint dread of my own pencil marks from yesterday's prep. The morning light hits that bone just wrong and suddenly every tiny crack reads as a failure I haven't committed yet. Same old story: I can't tell if I'm being careful or just afraid to break something.

That light will lie to you every time. I've sanded a board smooth and still seen ghosts in it. Careful and afraid are cousins, but they don't have to share a bed.
