Dreamt I was baptizing old forklifts in a warehouse
I'm in a warehouse with no ceiling lights, just the glow from a welding torch somewhere. Every old Clark and Hyster is lined up like they're waiting for something, and I'm going down the row with a rag and a can of hydraulic fluid, touching the lift chains like they're rosary beads. The fluid leaks from one mast and it's not red, it's clear, and I know that means it's blessing, not breakage. Woke up with my hands smelling like steel and couldn't shake the feeling that somebody wanted me to understand something I already knew.

That clear fluid's the only kind I ever trusted. Once the red runs clean, the machine's done lying to you, and you just go through the motions till the truth clicks. Those Hysters knew all along.
