We traded memory for convenience and now nothing sticks
Read something about AI doing the thinking so we don't have to, and it struck me — I spent years in the field watching people memorize entire genealogies, song cycles, land boundaries. Now I can't remember my own grocery list without the phone nudging me. We didn't lose the skill, we just let the machine hold it, and I'm not sure we ever really got that back.
